Responsibilities
We are seeking a qualified Groundskeeper to join our team. Below is a listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Responsible for keeping the property grounds, stairways/hallways, and other public areas neat, clean, and free of debris. This position may also require other cleaning and basic maintenance and/or repair work under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor or maintenance technician.
- Inspect and maintain the cleanliness of the grounds daily. This includes cleaning stairways/hallways/common areas, sweeping and blowing walkways/common areas, disposing of trash (including boxes, furniture, fixtures, and furnishings), and cleaning miscellaneous items (windows, doors, signs, etc.), vacuuming and mopping floors as required, and in inclement weather, assisting with snow and ice removal.
- Maintain storage, work, and shop areas in a neat, well-stocked, clean, and organized manner.
- Work with property staff to maximize renewals by performing maintenance procedures as required by the property renewal program.
- Assist with completing basic, routine property maintenance tasks requested by the maintenance supervisor.
- Work with the maintenance team to complete turn-key operations.
- Under the direction of the maintenance supervisor, the groundskeeper regularly inspects the property and reports maintenance and repair issues.
- If the property has a pool, groundskeepers must clean and maintain pool areas and may be required to perform basic pool maintenance.
- Perform trash removal functions, including transporting trash to the dumpster, compacting trash, and keeping the dumpster area clean and neat.
- Work with the maintenance supervisor to ensure adherence to company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Familiar with the property map that identifies all utility cut-offs, the location of hydrants, gas mains, and any other property safety information.
- Under the direction of the maintenance supervisor, regularly inspect property for safety and security issues, including, but not limited to, non-functioning lights, ground and trip hazards, broken fences, exposed wiring, potholes, and sewer line breaks.
- Must be knowledgeable and adhere to Sexual Harassment and Fair Housing Guidelines.
Work Environment
- Ability to work inside or outside and in varying weather conditions
- Must have dependable transportation and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule, and work a varied schedule to include weekends and holidays as required
- Physical demands include the ability to walk, climb stairs, sit, or stand for long periods of time and occasionally lift up to 50lbs
Compensation:
$16 - $18/hour renewal bonus potential!
