Job Title: Client Advocate
Reporting Relationship: Compassionate Support Services (CSS) Director
Department: Compassionate Support Services (CSS)
Days Worked: Monday – Thursday
Required Hours: Part-time – 32 hours per week; Hourly / Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Primary purpose of this position is to provide support, guidance, and advocacy to empower clients with community information and resources.
Specific Responsibilities:
Client Relations:
o Meet with clients to understand their needs, challenges, and goals
o Provide information and referrals to appropriate community resources, services and programs
o Assist clients in navigating community resources and advocate on client’s behalf if needed
o Follow-up with clients to ensure their needs are being met and adjust plans as needed
o Stay informed about local resources, policies, and services relevant to client needs
o Abide by the PRC’s policy for client confidentiality
o Exhibit cultural competence by understanding, respecting, and valuing diverse backgrounds and perspectives, ensuring equitable and sensitive support for all clients and community members
o Assist in screening safe sleep applications according to CSS guidelines
Volunteer Advocate Support:
o Assist with on-the-job training to advocates and other volunteers as needed
o Serve as “go-to” person for Volunteer Advocates; nurture, support, pray with, and encourage volunteers
o Seek feedback from volunteers in implementing and refining procedures and programs
o Update volunteer schedules and calendar
o Assist advocates with client concerns and forms
Donor Relations:
o Provide tours of the CSS facility when requested
o Assist with donation drop-offs in the warehouse area
Additional Responsibilities:
o Communicate with CSS Director and Operations Office regarding client stories and photos for publication, Facebook posts, newsletters, Board meetings, and speaking engagements
o Host after hours volunteer groups on occasion (approximately one time per month)
o Cross-train in CSS programs
o Provide backup duties for front desk, as needed
o Attend all required meetings: staff, departmental, and in-service training, as required
o Assist with and/or attend PRC events (Gala, volunteer events, Walk for Life, etc.), as directed
o Perform other tasks as assigned by the CSS Director
Position Requirements:
o Previous demonstrated experience in social work, community health, advocacy, case management, or social services preferred
o Bilingual proficiency Spanish/English preferred but not required
o Knowledge of community resources and referral options
o Detail focused
o Excellent organizational skills
o Outstanding interpersonal skills with a nonjudgmental and empathetic approach
o Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
o Passionate about the needs and spiritual growth of single moms/dads
o Willingness to learn, teach, and inform
o Able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and support to volunteers and clients
o Understands and models servant leadership
o Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, and database software
o Knowledgeable in Google documents, forms, and presentations
o Familiar and/or willing to learn Zoom, Google Meets, and TEAMS
o Self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
o Physically able to lift 25 lbs.
o Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive data
