CONTEXT : Our client, a leading provider of electrical infrastructure solutions for water and wastewater treatment plants, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (AMP) to join their team. This is a great opportunity for candidates who have experience as a Jr. Project Engineer / Designer or AMP, looking to grow in a dynamic, hands-on role within the water / wastewater industry. The ideal candidate will have education or experience with managing electrical projects, including installation of electrical gear, automation, and underground infrastructure within industrial settings.
As the Assistant Project Manager, you will assist in managing electrical projects for water and wastewater plants, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project specifications. You'll work closely with the Senior Project Manager to oversee the design and implementation phases while managing subcontractors, vendors, and project schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist the Senior Project Manager in overseeing electrical infrastructure installation projects at water and wastewater treatment plants, including electrical gear, automation systems, and underground wiring.
- Help with project administration, including reviewing design / blueprint specifications, preparing submittals, and ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring performance meets project specifications and timelines.
- Assist in estimating costs, scheduling, and contract negotiations for projects up to $10M in size.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of detailed project schedules, ensuring deadlines are met and progress is tracked.
- Support the team in identifying and resolving potential project issues and risks, acting swiftly to mitigate delays or complications.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review project plans, design documents, and blueprints, adding notes for installers and ensuring the integrity of project specifications.
- Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
