CONTEXT: Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical systems in Water and Wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical project management, particularly in the Water and Wastewater sector. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of electrical components for infrastructure projects, with a focus on meeting project timelines, budgets (ranging up to $30M), and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage electrical projects for Water and Wastewater infrastructure, from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and financial forecasts for electrical systems, coordinating with other project managers, engineers, and contractors.
- Oversee project procurement, ensuring the timely purchase of materials, equipment, and services required for electrical installations.
- Manage the preparation of submittals, material budgets, and labor projections for all phases of the project.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field crews to ensure electrical systems are installed, tested, and operational according to specifications.
- Prepare and monitor project invoices, ensuring that work is billed accurately and on time.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and clients regarding project progress, risks, and any potential issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or logistical issues related to electrical installations and design.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and industry standards (including NEC) related to electrical systems in Water and Wastewater infrastructure.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of project status, challenges, and deliverables.
- Utilize project management software (such as Microsoft Project or similar tools) to track and report on project timelines and milestones.
- Review electrical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Ensure quality control through regular site inspections and by reviewing completed work for compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Project Manager (PM) with a focus on Water/Wastewater or similar infrastructure projects.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Assistant Project Manager (AMP), Project Engineer, or Project Designer prior to transitioning into the PM role.
- Graduate from an electrical trade school or hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Journeyman or Master’s electrical license.
- Proven experience managing projects with budgets ranging from $1M to $30M.
- Proficient in BlueBeam or, at a minimum, Adobe Acrobat Reader for document management and review.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 applications for project tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
- Familiarity with Accubid Electrical Estimating Software or similar platforms for estimating project costs and materials.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design and installation practices specific to Water and Wastewater systems.
- Ability to prepare, manage, and monitor material budgets, labor projections, and monthly project billings.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- A clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- A clean criminal record.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with the installation and maintenance of electrical systems specific to Water and Wastewater infrastructure.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards relevant to Water/Wastewater electrical systems (e.g., NEC, NEMA).
- Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project or Procore.
- Knowledge of project scheduling and resource allocation for large-scale projects.
- Familiarity with field operations and understanding of safety requirements for on-site electrical installations.
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
