Preble Street has a 2nd shift Caseworker position available at Florence House Shelter and Residential Program. Florence House provides services to Housing First Studio apartments and a 40-bed emergency shelter 24/7, 365 days a year. This position will work as a member of a team of caseworkers supporting clients through addressing their barriers to housing.
This position reports directly to Florence House 2nd Shift Supervisor. The primary role of this position is to build relationships with clients, provide casework services, provide program coverage, maintain client safety, monitor the security of the building, provide crisis intervention, and support, and assist clients in overcoming barriers to stable housing.
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 2:00pm-10:30pm

- Candidates for this position must have a positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty.
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with community services
- An understanding of low-barrier service challenges
- The ability to establish boundaries and set limits with a diverse population
- Able to work as part of a team.
- MHRT-1 certification eligibility is required and can be obtained while on the job.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate of pay for these full-time (40 hours/week) positions is $22.45 per hour. Direct service positions in 24/7 programs are also eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm. Generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits include:
- 160 hours (4 weeks, accrued) vacation time, 96 hours (12 days, accrued) sick time, 32 hours personal time, 12 Paid Holidays
