Position Summary: Moves parts and material as required
Reports To: Supply Chain Team Leader
Personnel: Not applicable.
Accountabilities: Ensure that shop paperwork is correct. Follow all safety practices while lifting and rigging. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensure machine set ups are done promptly and correctly. All SOP’s and WI’s must be followed.

Duties:
- Operation of fork truck, overhead crane and wash booth.
- Lifts, moves, clamps, and bolts dies and fixtures on machines, using hand tools.
- Study blueprints, router, or layout on work piece to determine sequence of operations and finished dimensions of work piece.
- Lift and position work piece on machine table manually or with hoist and/or lift truck, and secure it using clamps, bolts, or fixtures.
- Fill tanks and oil cups with lubricants.
- Brushes or blows dirt from dies, using air hose.
- Removes work piece and scrap from machines, using conveyor, pallets or hand truck.
- Files, grinds, or scrapes sharp edges, burrs, scales, or rust from work pieces, using portable grinder or hand tools.
- Sorts, marks, or tags finished work.
- Transports material, using jib or hoist, or signals crane operator to move material.
- Cleans machine.
- Deburr parts
- Package product in boxes or skids
- Apply preservatives to parts as directed
- Operate ring ripper saw
- May clean dies, using cleaning solution, brushes, and rag.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Educational Experience – HS Diploma or GED
Experience – Fork Truck, crane and lifting and rigging experience
Physical Demands – The employee is required to:
- stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
- exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and /or
- exert up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Certification Required – Fork Truck and Crane certification required. Specialist Lifting and Rigging, Boom and Scissor Lift and ‘Big Red’ Fork Lift certifications preferred.
Visual Acuity – Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.
Hearing Ability – Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
Working Conditions – The employee is subject to:
- high noise levels from operating machines
- physical hazards from moving equipment and production components
- breathing fumes, dust and mist
- skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
