Preschool or Toddler Teacher
SEARCHING FOR: An individual that truly enjoys working with young children, is capable of creating a fun, interesting program for our preschool age children. Creative Curriculum and TSgold a plus.
Responsibilities
- Plan both long and short range activities in accordance with creative curriculum objectives and philosophy/education and music
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly lesson plans
- Complete quarterly assessments of children's development
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve conflict
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and needs
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- Certification in child CPR
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Criminal Background Registry
~Must be able to obtain these within 30 days of hire, except the criminal background check, that is mandatory before you can start.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
