Precipart, located in Farmingdale, NY, is looking for a Production Planner/Buyer to join our Supply Chain Team. The Production Planner/Buyer is responsible for assisting with production scheduling, inventory management, and procurement activities to ensure the timely and efficient production of mechanical precision custom components. This junior-level role involves supporting senior team members, gain hands on experience in production planning and purchasing, and collaborate across departments to effectively meet customer demands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing production costs.
- Support coordination with production, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure that production schedules are feasible and align with customer requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies to support production schedules.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and cost-effective purchasing.
- Process various types of P.O.’s (material, service, MRO and office supplies).
- Track and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues related to order discrepancies, delays, or quality concerns.
- Analyze production data and reports to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to develop and implement inventory management strategies, including safety stock levels and reorder points.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production schedules, inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier information.
- Assist in preparing and presenting reports on production planning, purchasing activities, and key performance indicators to senior management.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning, purchasing processes, and overall operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in all production planning and purchasing activities.
- Responsible for conforming with the company’s quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, business administration or similar
- 1 years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of supply chain practices, including inventory management, procurement, and logistics
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and other production planning tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, verbally and written, effectively with team members and cross-functionally
- Proficient in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and Adaptable and able to adjust to shifting priorities

PAY RANGE: $55,000 to $65,000 annually
