The Maintenance Technician/Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment in the machine shop to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs, while adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Preventive Maintenance:
· Perform routine inspections and maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established schedules.
· Identify potential problems and address them proactively to prevent breakdowns.
· Lubricate, clean, and maintain machinery and equipment.
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
· Troubleshooting and Repair:
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with machinery and equipment.
· Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
· Follow blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation to perform repairs.
· Safety and Compliance:
· Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
· Identify and address potential safety hazards.
· Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
· Inventory Management:
· Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies.
· Order and track inventory as needed.
· Other Duties:
· Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
· Provide training to other employees on maintenance procedures.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field preferred.
· Experience:
2-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.
· Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
· Knowledge of machine shop equipment and processes.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation.
· Experience with hand and power tools.
