We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and eye health, with a focus on providing exceptional service in an optometry setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist Optometrists in conducting eye exams and vision tests
- Perform preliminary screenings of patients, including taking vital signs and patient history
- Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Utilize retail math skills to assist patients with frame selection and lens options
- Maintain cleanliness and aseptic technique in exam rooms and equipment
- Handle retail sales of eyewear and optical products
- Support pediatric patients during eye exams
- Utilize ophthalmic systems for data entry and patient records
Qualifications
- Experience in patient care, preferably in optometry or ophthalmology
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness in a medical setting
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and interpretation
- Strong retail math skills for assisting patients with eyewear selection
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service
- Proficiency in utilizing ophthalmic systems for data entry and record keeping
- Sales experience is a plus
