What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALITY TECHNICIAN position at Precise Tool & Manufacturing Inc.?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.
Receiving Inspection per Precise work instruction WI-8.6-035 Receiving Inspection.
Gage Calibration per Precise Tool work instruction WI-7.1.5-001 Calibration Procedure.
Assisting machinist with setting up and or providing the inspection tools needed to inspection work in-process.
Assist machinist with measurement of parts on the machines including writing NCMR’s when needed. (In-process inspections).
Open plate inspection and completion of QCR (Quality Control Record QA-8.6-012) of finished machined parts when required.
CMM operation when required. – Stage part on CMM and run the part program with assistance from a CMM Technician.
Communication of inspection results to machine operators, quality management, engineering team and customers when required.
Understanding of the NCMR process including creating and communicating the NCMR information during a Material review board meeting.
Must be flexible, approachable, and work well with all employees.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Understanding of Precise Tool Work Instructions WI-8.6-035 Receiving Inspection and WI-7.1.5-001 Calibration Procedure.
Basic metrology skills required for open plate inspection of machined parts.
Understanding of GD&T with the ability to communicate what features the GD&T are controlling in relationship to a Datum structure.
Blueprint reading and understanding of engineering drawings / models.
Use of standard Quality measurement tools such as calipers, micrometer, and dial indicators.
Communication skills are of an up most importance. Being able to communicate inspection results effectively is a must have for this position.
Above average math skills that are associated with Metrology.
Attention to detail is required.
Basic understanding of the AS9100D Quality Management System.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma.
Minimum 5 years of experience working in Quality preferred.
PC-Dims / CMM experience a plus.
Machining experience a plus.
Experience with gage calibration a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the metal industry and or parts manufacturing industry.
