The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program aims to support safe work practices and ensure facilities are in regulatory compliance. The primary goal is to protect employees, customers, and the environment while developing and implementing training programs in support of PCC policies and regulations.
Key responsibilities include conducting facility walks to identify safety, health, and environmental risks; developing and implementing inspection policies and procedures; preparing and scheduling training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and relevant topics; administering safety training for newly hired employees; monitoring compliance with safety procedures; championing the 6S Program; ensuring safety data sheets are maintained and accessible; maintaining records of employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants; and leading site activities with regulatory agencies.
This role requires extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections and reporting, and ability to manage hands-on engagement at plant floor level.
