Location Profile:
Located in Wilder, KY and founded in 1946, Andrews Laser Works specializes in the fabrication of complex assemblies from Inconel, steel, aluminum, and titanium sheet with a core competency in aero engine brackets and components. Utilizing laser cutting, machining, forming, stamping, welding, & assembly processes, the company transforms sheet metal into complex, tight-tolerance brackets for aircraft engines. The Department Supervisor, in addition to performing normal duties in their job classifications, takes a leadership role guiding and directing work to a team of an assigned work area. Daily and weekly instruction and priorities are established and communicated by the Shop Floor Manager.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure all employees adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Prioritize and distribute work in the department by order schedule to meet daily production goals. Uses area boards to ensure results.
- Report status of jobs to Shop Floor Manager at least daily
- Effectively utilize personnel skillsets in finishing to complete work efficiently
- Ensure all 6S initiatives are understood and completed by all department employees
- Operate equipment and complete normal job duties when not engaged in Supervisor activities. (Supervisor duties should not consume more than 20% of time)
- Reviews production and operating metrics and reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Resolves employee suggestions and or complaints or submits unsettled employee issues for further action by Shop Floor Manager and HR Manager where and when appropriate.
- Analyzes, establishes, and communicates performance standards to all employees.
- Instills and maintains a positive, can-do team atmosphere; holding regular team meetings, reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges; thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement and contributing towards becoming a learning organization.
- Responsible for employee timekeeping and management within ADP Vantage and Workday.
- Ensures the completion of required competency forms and certifications, as well as maintains an employee skill matrix.

- Minimum One to two years of experience

- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
