Position Summary:
The Painter / Bond Primer is responsible for efficiently processing parts through the line in preparation for lay-up and other duties as assigned.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in bond priming applications
- Apply different types of bond prime depending on specifications of the part
- Rack parts for chemical processing
- Rack & identify bond prime surface
- Cleans and prepares aircraft part surfaces prior to painting
- Sprays specified amount or thickness of primers/bond primers on parts
- Mix and thin paints to specified color and consistency in accordance to standard formulas
General
- Actively support and participate in continuous improvement activities, team meetings, and holding him/herself accountable for sustaining improvements.
- Perform regular 6S cleaning in all used areas
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
- Communication, verbal and written (English)
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with paint gun and palm sander
- Organizes, plans, prioritizes, and completes work on time
- Read & interpret technical documents (drawings, specs, M&P, etc)
- Paperwork precision and accuracy
- Visual verification of water break surface
- Part traceability
- Paint preparation
- Paint technique
Experience and Education:
- Education and Training
o High school diploma or GED preferred
- Aerospace and/or Manufacturing experience a plus
- Technical Requirements
o Basic mechanical aptitude
o Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
