SUMMARY
The Quality Control Manager holds a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving and managing the plant’s quality assurance and control initiatives. This position ensures that all products meet stringent aerospace standards and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Manage the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, AS13100, and NADCAP. Ensure that all processes align with company policies and regulatory requirements. Main point of contact with customers, regulatory and government agencies on all quality related issues and audits.
- Drive continuous improvement programs to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes. Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve quality performance.
- Schedules and reviews internal and external audits to assure that any out of compliances with product, processes, or procedures are identified, documented, and corrected.
- Will review job status, customer specifications and recommended solutions to problems. Must keep various departments informed of engineering and customer alterations or problems. Makes recommendations as to possible improvement in procedures and/or methods to increase effectiveness and reduce costs. Assists in various aspects of research and development and lends technical assistance to various departments.
- Works in close conjunction with customers, Production Control, Engineering and other areas on topics related to alloy, casting design or tooling.
- Oversee the investigation of quality issues using root cause analysis methodologies. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with the supply chain and procurement teams to assess and improve supplier quality. Conduct supplier audits and develop strategies to address supplier-related quality issues.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality assurance team. Foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Manage the Level III NDT Examiner responsible for personnel qualification, special process certifications, procedure generation and audits.
- Function as the Management Representative as required by AS9100, AS13100 and NADCAP.
- Oversee management of the calibration system.
- Responsible for management of the internal “captive” metals testing laboratory.
- Frequent review of technical literature to stay abreast of industry and other changes and/or advancements as expected.
- Oversee NADCAP and customer accreditation program for metals testing lab, heat treatment, welding, and NDT methods.
- Regularly directs, instructs, advises, assists and checks associates and subordinates as to schedules, methods, standards of performance, rules/regulations, safety precautions and other matters affecting their parts.
- Must maintain discipline, morale and professionalism when dealing with staff, customers, department supervisors and all employees. Will handle complaints and grievances within the limits of established company policy.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
- *Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.
- Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- B.S. degree required; preferably in science or engineering field. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, demonstrating the ability to lead quality teams and drive organizational change.
- Must have demonstrated ability to interact with customers, engineering, manufacturing operations and leadership on technical issues.
- Candidates should have a proven track record of implementing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and AS13100.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressively responsible roles in technical or operations positions. Preferably in casting and aerospace industry.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
