Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Intermediate level shipping and receiving documentation
- Operation of forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material moving devices
- Operate all shipping and receiving equipment, tools, and computer systems
- Verify packaging slips
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Performing basic visual inspection of incoming/outgoing parts
- Completing required receiving documentation
- Interaction with other departments via Microsoft Office suite platforms
- Suggesting safety policies and 6S cleanliness/organization
- Intermediate shipment schedule interaction and process knowledge
- Determining work priority for Level One Shipping & Receiving employees
- Preparing loads for pickup
- Suggesting new shipping and receiving/inventory processes
- Monitoring and maintaining current inventory levels
- Performing physical count of inventory
- Reconciling actual stock count to computer
- Working safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction
Required Skills:
- The ability to read and write English.
- Intermediate capabilities with computerized Inventory, Shipping and Receiving systems.
- Understanding and adhering to proper shipping and receiving practices.
- Understanding the manufacturing process and how shipping and receiving interacts with upstream/downstream functions.
- BASIC MATH SKILLS
- Intermediate operational skills with forklift/picker.
- Maintaining staging areas, packaging areas, and loading docks in a clean and orderly manner (6S).
- Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others.
- The ability to perform basic shop math with fractions and decimals.
- Attention to detail.
- The ability to read and follow work instructions and department processes.
- Ability to execute tasks within deadlines and timeframes.
Required Experience:
- 2-3 years of recently related or relevant work history or training.
- Prior knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.
Level of Education:
- High School diploma or GED is expected.
