Position Summary:
Level One: Level one shipping/receiving clerks working under direct supervision to complete basic shipping and receiving tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, verifying packaging slips and order contents, performing visual inspection, as well as packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods. Level one shipping clerks will demonstrate basic packaging skills such as part protection, verify packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc. All shipping and rec. clerks will be forklift certified, and may be expected to demonstrate basic computer skills. Typically 0-1 years of experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Log jobs into shipping log book following standard operating procedures.
- Store manufacturing and stock jobs.
- Post jobs on the board and notify lead person.
- Prepare shippers and distribute to all pertaining areas per standard operating procedures.
- Review expedite list and coordinate with production control department for jobs not shipped.
- Count shippable and non-shippable jobs at the end of the day.
- File yellow packing lists by ship date.
- Log stock cards/ok tags.
Required Skills:
- The ability to read and write English.
- An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
- Must be able to interpret written instructions.
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time.
Required Experience:
- 0-1 years of experience.
Level of Education:
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
Salary : $18 - $23
