ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Planning inventory management to help maintain a healthy, and lean level of inventory for raw materials (cores, alloy, etc.)
- Evaluating raw materials to ensure everything is in place for production (heavy focus on the foundry)
- Daily review of production plan in the front end to ensure that the right molds are being moved through Front End ops in accordance with monthly ship plan.
- Co-op will take on a small portfolio of part numbers and will handle disruptions by escalating to appropriate engineer or Materials Manager.
- The PCC co-op will spend time in several areas in order to learn our planning process and some of the key variables that will need to be monitored
- One day will be spent with the wax injection team, one day will be spent in the dip room with process engineer and supervisor, another final day will be spent in the Foundry
- The co-op will specifically spend time with both the Master Scheduler and Production Control Specialist at SMP in order to learn how the inputs are managed as well as the internal MRP system.
- Knowledge of related discipline functional and technical skills
- The employee will need to be detail-oriented and have a must-win attitude in order to succeed in our process.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
- Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
- US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
- Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or any other related field.
- $24.00 per hour/40 hours a week
- Housing stipend available (if qualifies)
