Medical Biller
Job Summary:
As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare facility by ensuring accurate and timely billing of medical services. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical coding and terminology will be essential in processing claims and resolving any billing discrepancies. You will work closely with medical providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate smooth financial transactions within the healthcare system.
Duties:
- Utilize expertise in medical collection, medical office procedures, ICD-10 coding systems, and medical billing to accurately process and submit claims. Our office uses the Chiro Spring billing and medical software.
- Review and verify patient information, procedures, and diagnosis codes for completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim rejections, denials, or discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with billing practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claim submission.
- Generate patient statements, process payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist in auditing medical records for coding accuracy and completeness.
-Assist at the front desk answering calls, helping patients check in and out, explaining billing and taking payments.
Experience:
- Proven experience in medical billing, including proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems, and reimbursement processes.
- Familiarity with electronic billing systems and software for claims submission.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations is a plus.
- Certification in Medical Billing or related field is preferred.
