The Following Restrictions Apply To All Internship Candidates

  • Applicants must be available for a non-negotiable start date of Monday May 19, 2025
  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in the Houston area, as Precision does not provide internship housing.
  • By May 5, 2025, applicants must have completed at least their second year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting). 


Summary

The Engineering Compliance Intern will assist the Technical Solutions group for a term in the summer, located at our US Head Office, in Houston, TX. Day to day reporting to Manager, Engineering Compliance at same facility. Some work may also be performed at the Houston Technical Support Center (HTSC) at Vickery Drive, in Houston, TX. The role will also be shared with Operations Engineering in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Management of Change projects (Engineering Documents, Drafting)
  • Perform QA/QC checks on Management of Change system for risk mitigation
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Various other duties and special projects as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor


Knowledge & Skills

Education

Currently enrolled in Junior or Senior level BS Engineering program, preferably with a Mechanical Engineering or Civil/Structural Engineering focus

Experience

Minimum 1-2 years of related work experience with QA/QC checks and understanding of management of change systems. Experience can be acquired through lectures and labs

Drafting/Design experience with AutoCAD and Inventor (or equivalent 2D and 3D software) is an asset

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience with oil drilling rig equipment would be an asset but not a requirement

Previous oilfield working experience is an asset but not a requirement
