Description :

Responsible for engineering and design of a wide range of automation projects including :

Instrumentation and Controls Hardware Selection
Sizing and selection of VFDs, power supplies, branch circuit short circuit protection, overcurrent protection, fuses, breakers, and panel cooling requirements
Electrical Design including Schematic Drawings and P&ID development
PLC programming
HMI / SCADA programming
Communication network setup & configuration
Drive setup & configuration
Field Engineering, Service, and commissioning / startup activities
Site Surveys
Control Specifications
Estimating project costs as needed
Customer contact skills
Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions :

Electrical Hazards

Varying weather conditions

Varying customer environments (Food Grade, cGMP, Etc.)

Varying office and customer locations

Varying schedules & occasional extended hours

Requirements :

Required Qualifications :

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree / experience

Knowledge of advanced PLC functions such as sequencers & PID loop controls

Knowledge of the NEC & UL508A

Personal computer skills : Microsoft Office products

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Independence skills : a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently on their own and manage multi-faceted jobs

Team skills : a team player with the willingness to help others within the department, as well as within the company

Ability to organize and prioritize work

Ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications :

Knowledge of other PLC manufacturers products

Knowledge of other HMI manufacturers terminals

Knowledge of other manufacturers drives

Knowledge of the CIP cleaning process

Knowledge of the cheese manufacturing process
