Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.
Inspector I performs inspection duties as assigned while interpreting and following specifications for each product per the related job package, drawing and/or prints, PEG’s QCIP’s, ISO 9001 procedures, and/or the customer’s criteria.
This position reports directly to the quality manager.
Responsibilities
- Identify visual defects per PEG’s QCIP’s and customer specifications based upon CTQ (Critical to Quality) criteria
- Perform all inspection duties such as: first article inspections, in-process inspections, final inspections, data collection and reporting, laser engraving, and packing according to the job package to ensure accuracy of parts per customer specifications
- Read, interpret, and employ part drawings and/or prints
- Employ gauging equipment related to operation at hand
- Ensures gauges being used are within calibration
- Employ Microsoft Office, CorelDRAW, and other related computer programs to complete inspection duties
- Fill out work related travelers, charts, and identification cards
- Accurately scan in and out of jobs utilizing the job package and Visual Manufacturing
- Input accurate inspection data in Visual Manufacturing
- Familiar with specifications, blueprints, job orders and company policies
- Other duties as assigned to ensure quality of parts and work flow
- Follows prescribed safety measures
- Keep a clean and neat work area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to perform the duties of the job
- Possesses mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and counting, US Customary System and Metric System)
- Ability to read and understand measuring devices related to the operation (micrometers, calipers, tape measure, ruler, dial indicator, etc….)
- Ability to read, interpret, and employ part drawings/prints and work orders
- Ability to name and identify visual defects per QCIP’s
- Ability to interpret and follow specifications for each product being made in accordance to the appropriate job package
- Possesses problem solving ability and is able to render an evaluation
- Possesses interpersonal skills and is able to communicate with operators, unit leaders and managers
- Possesses computer skills to perform the duties of the job: CRM, Visual Manufacturing, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to understand and record SPC data and then analyze the results that were calculated
- Knowledge of ISO and its importance to PEG’s quality management system
Experience Requirements
- Experience in a manufacturing environment helpful
- Experience with quality assurance helpful
- High School Diploma
- 0-1 Years of quality assurance experience inspecting precision glass components

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, listen, and hear. The employee is frequently required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, push/ pull, handle objects (manual dexterity), and reach above shoulder level. The employee must have the ability to carry/ lift loads up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to excessive noise, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature, humidity, dust, fumes, gases, and open flames.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flex scheduling is available upon request but must fit the needs of the company.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
