Job Overview
This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality hardware for space vehicles. You will work closely with various departments to ensure timely delivery of high-value space hardware, while adhering to strict quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the PDM system
- Ensure configuration control plan adherence throughout product life cycles
- Lead lower-level Engineering Support Specialists in daily activities
- Produce high-fidelity engineering drawings and models
- Evaluate, improve, and develop processes to support configuration control plans
- Enhance CAD-based tools for standardization, efficiency, and uniform design feature application
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Ensure designs meet manufacturing, technical, and customer requirements
- Guarantee design projects are completed within budget and timeframe
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical degree
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional
- Demonstrated 10 years of mechanical design experience with relevant certification or education
- Experience with change management and new releases in production environments
- Ability to apply best practices per ASME Y.14
- Excellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation skills
- Experience with quality management systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
