Purchasing Manager

We are searching for a Purchasing Manager who is flexible, agile and excited to work in the aerospace launch vehicle industry. We design, manufacture and test many types of valves for extreme service conditions.

As Purchasing Manager, you will:
Manage a team of 3 buyers, providing guidance and oversight for procurement of materials, raw stock and services in accordance with organization's specified requirements.
Maintain constant contact and negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, working through PO issues (cost, quality, scheduled deliveries).
Review supplier order acknowledgements for accuracy and alignment to the PO requirements.
Communicate and resolve any risk of supply issues which could impact the delivery of material.
Engage in a collaborative manner and communicate with both stakeholders and suppliers of any change which may impact procurement and the fulfillment of production demand.
Work with A/P (accounts payable), suppliers and other functional groups to resolve any procurement or accounting discrepancies.
Assist Receiving Department to resolve supplier shipment discrepancies.
Help maintain software data integrity by consistently monitoring lead times, min/max levels, safety stocks and pricing.
Skill Requirements:
10 to 15 years experience managing a team of buyers in procurement and planning within a manufacturing environment, background in business or finance helpful.
Thorough knowledge of procurement and sourcing processes including MRP based activities.
Intimately familiar with sourcing of raw stock in support of a large manufacturing shop.
History of working with cross-functional groups to help identify/resolve key issues.
Extensive experience working on new product development supporting supplier selections as needed.
Excellent communication skills and ability to write/speak clearly in English
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
The Purchasing Manager is also responsible to work with the Quality Manager for developing their organization's procurement policies and procedures. These policies help ensure that procurement professionals are meeting ethical standards to avoid potential conflicts of interest or inappropriate supplier and customer relations.
