Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Director of Operations to organize and oversee the daily operations of Precision Grade, a Heavy Construction Civil Engineering firm . You will be responsible for developing and implementing business procedures, workflow process, project productivity, biding detail accuracy and effective management of office personnel. The area of responsibility for this role encompasses and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively and multi-task various company processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills as they must be able to plan and effectively manage the different operational activities of the company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, good business instinct and the ability to create and implement efficient and effective business procedures to support company operations, growth and long-term success.
Responsibilities
Work directly with the company President to make decisions for improved operational procedures·
Plan, implement and supervise the day-to-day operation of the key business processes to ensure smooth and effective teamwork and project outcome
Supervise staff from different departments, provide constructive feedback, training and support
Evaluate and develop new business procedures and processes to ensure efficient workflow, accurate paperwork and clear direct communications
Evaluate staffing levels and staff structure and formulate proposals for team growth when appropriate
Oversee and manage accounts receivable and payable
Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
Revise and formulate new policies and ensure their implementation as needed
Manage relationships and agreements with external partners, vendors and clients
Evaluate overall project performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics, make recommendations as needed
Have a good understanding of OSHA construction regulations to ensure company compliance on each project, in addition to understanding any regional or county regulations or compliance issues the company needs to adhere to
Be pro-active in seeking solutions to challenges with excellent problem-solving skills
Work with the company's accounting and legal consultants as needed
Requirements
5 years of proven experience as Director of Operations. Experience in this position in the construction industry is a plus
BSc/BA in business administration
