Weld Technician
Precision Hydraulic Cylinders is looking for a Weld Technician to join the Industrial Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of PHCs welding program. You will support plant manufacturing, quality, and technical operations with processes assuring product weld quality while maintaining pace through value streams. You will be required to be the welding subject matter expert, responsible for defining and implementing welding techniques, procedures, team member training/certification, weld SOP/AWS/ISO compliance, and weld quality/safety controls.
Responsibilities:
· Test welders and maintain the welding qualification program for the entire plant.
· Perform weekly weld audits and document the results.
· Learn and develop expertise for new welding technology considering safety standards.
· Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1 standards.
· Support welding operation and process flow improvement activities.
· Provide training to manual weld operators for improving weld quality.
· Issue and maintain welder ID stamps.
· Review and/or create PQR for production weld qualifications.
· Analyze weld failures for possible causes and implement corrective actions.
· Issue and maintain shell loaders for all the value streams.
· Provide weld training to new employees during orientation.
· Learn and develop expertise in robot welding.
· Perform Continuous Improvement activities and other duties to support the needs of the business.
Requirements:
· Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills and communication.
· Weld certification from AWS or equivalent.
· Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Strong attention to detail and quality.
· Ability to prioritize daily work as per department needs.
· Ability to work independently and closely follow directions.
