What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Breast Tech position at Precision Imaging Centers?
We are now hiring an experienced Ultrasound Breast Tech to work PRN float, at our centers in the Jacksonville Florida area. Position Overview
Breast Ultrasound Technologists must be able to perform screening and diagnostic ultrasounds with high image quality. Sonographer must be able to closely follow physician protocols, properly position patients to accurately capture the requested diagnostic images and be able to operate all breast imaging ultrasound equipment. They will also be responsible for protecting the safety of patients during their exam/procedure. This position may also require the individual to manipulate/maneuver patients who may be disabled. Breast Ultrasound Technologists perform sonographic examinations ordered by referring physicians, in order to provide excellent service and patient care. This includes creating a tranquil environment, so patients will be able to adhere to examination instructions
Essential Functions:
- Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and assure proper file identification on all images.
- Demonstrate competency performing all diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the operation of all related equipment.
- Greet patients, obtain history, and enter information in computer system.
- Scan according to guidelines and company protocols.
- Maintain logs; process paperwork for biopsies.
- Acquire patient's chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic need.
- Utilize sterile techniques preventing contamination.
- Responsible for all clinical aspects of ultrasonography suite; maintain cleanliness of examination rooms.
- Scrub future patient schedules to ensure orders are correct, proper exam is scheduled and prior images are obtained before patient’s arrival.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Provide coverage as needed (i.e. in the event of call-outs or extended patient schedules).
- Provide a positive patient experience; share information with patients, providing knowledge about the procedure; ensuring they are aware of follow-up steps and requirements.
- Maintain communication with radiologists and other physicians, patients and their families, and other persons.
- Consistently submit images of diagnostic quality without recommendation of additional image acquisition; perform quality assurance on images and equipment; demonstrate competency in utilizing systems.
- Seek continuing education as necessary, in accordance with licensure requirements.
- Maintain licensure in good standing.
- Assist with supply inventory and stocking of rooms.
- Assist with keeping dressing rooms clean and tidy.
- Assist with laundry as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
- Completion of accredited course in ultrasonic technology
- ARDMS Certification in Breast (American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography)
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Must be proficient in OB/GYN, Vascular and general ultrasound
- Independent Sonographer experienced and proficient in Breast scans
- BLS Certification
