Position Overview

The Landscape Superintendent will lead a team in the execution of various softscape projects, including planting, soil preparation, mulching, sodding, and maintenance of landscape features. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of horticulture and landscaping practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces and a proven track record of managing successful landscaping projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of landscapers in the installation and maintenance of softscape elements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Plan and organize daily work schedules, assigning tasks to team members based on project requirements and individual skill sets.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure work is performed to the highest standards and in accordance with design specifications.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and clients to ensure project goals are met and client satisfaction is achieved.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during project execution, maintaining a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
• This position transitions into full-time snow removal during the winter months.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscaping, with a focus on softscape installation and maintenance.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the landscaping industry.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture, plant species, soil types, and landscape design principles.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and blueprints.
• Proficiency in the use of landscaping tools and equipment.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Certification in horticulture or a related field is a plus.
