Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Line Locator to join our team. As a Utility Line Locator, you will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground utility lines to prevent damage during construction or excavation projects. This is a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of utility systems.
Duties:
- Conduct field service work to locate and mark underground utility lines using specialized equipment
- Utilize knowledge of utility locating techniques, including land surveying and blueprint reading, to accurately identify the location of utility lines
- Collaborate with construction crews and contractors to provide guidance on avoiding utility line damage during excavation projects
- Maintain accurate records of located utilities and provide documentation as required
- Perform cable locating and tracing activities as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in utility locating or related field service work is highly preferred
- Familiarity with land surveying techniques and blueprint reading is a plus
- Proficiency in operating equipment such as forklifts and backhoes is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret maps, diagrams, and other technical documents
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
