Job Summary:
A Maryland Licensed Land Surveyor is required to manage office and project activities, ensuring quality control and financial growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example with professionalism and clear communication.
- Provide leadership to staff and project team members.
- Contribute to financial growth through cost-effective project operations.
- Manage projects effectively by allocating resources and manpower to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Develop self and staff capabilities through programs enhancing technical, management, and communication skills.
- Prepare proposals for survey work.
- Coordinate with subconsultants as necessary.
- Negotiate contracts to maximize profitability aligned with corporate objectives.
- Approve project schedules, contract budgets, and ensure budget adherence.
- Maintain client relationships and support business development.
- Promote the corporate image through participation in relevant organizations.
- Stay up-to-date with AutoCAD and related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS, 3D Scanning, and Robotic technology.
- At least 5 years of experience in professional land surveying.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and municipal regulations, codes, and specifications.
- Understanding of Maryland's Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM).
- Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, maps, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Experience directing, supervising, training, and evaluating staff performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- MD Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
- Basic computer proficiency and expertise in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Able to wear and use standard PPE, including hard hats, safety vests, work boots, and safety glasses/goggles for survey jobs.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
