Precision Metal Industries is seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating press brake machinery to fabricate metal components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Operate press brake machinery to bend, form, and shape metal components as per engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the correct setup and tooling requirements.
- Perform quality inspections on finished products using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Safely operate forklifts for material handling as needed.
- Document production data accurately for quality control purposes.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating press brake machinery with a solid understanding of mechanical principles.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with lathe operations is a plus.
- Knowledge of stamping press operations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with programming CNC machines for precision fabrication tasks.
- Ability to conduct quality inspections using calipers and other measurement tools.
- Forklift certification preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
