We have a great opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist to join our team in the Hartland, Michigan location.

In This Role You Will

• Handle telephone and e-mail requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations.
• Be responsible for purchasing materials, parts, supplies, tools, or services. Maintain stock inventory tracking system and the establishment of quantity on hand requirements, where required.
• Prepare purchase requisitions, customer quotations and estimates, transportation and delivery documents, and other related letters or memos.
• Complete reports of your purchasing activities and costs.
• Follow up on customer and vendor inquiries regarding delivery information
• Use your negotiation knowledge to work with vendors on discounts
  
  

Requirements

• Associates Degree or equivalent; AND a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of procurement experience preferably in a technical or service related industry.
• Strong communications skills including written, verbal and listening skills.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills including experience dealing with customers, vendors, distributors, manufacturers, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, order processing systems, database management, Internet research, spreadsheet and inventory software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload.
• Excellent attention to detail and multi-taking ability.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel with formulas, data entry, and tables.
• Prior experience with order processing systems, database management, inventory software and Internet research.
• Previous work experience in a technical service industry.
