Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to join our program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of high school math and science subjects. This role involves providing educational support to students, helping them achieve their academic goals while fostering a positive learning environment.
Duties
- Helping students stay current with their academic progress in Math and/or Science.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in subjects such as, algebra, algebra II, Pre-calc, geometry, chemistry and physics.
- Utilize learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student understanding.
- Assist students in mastering classroom management techniques to improve their study habits, including helping students stay organized with lessons, notes, and home study strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure comprehension.
- Create a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
- Collaborate with and provide feedback to program leader, and parents on student progress and areas for improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching in relevant subjects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with learning technologies that facilitate effective education.
- Background in middle-school or high school education is a plus.
- Ability to educate diverse learners with varying levels of understanding in academic subjects.
