Position Overview: Sets up, adjusts, and change over various machines for tubes based upon customer specification. Starts machine to test adjustments and examines test pieces for defects and readjusting as needed
Essential Job Functions
Essential Job Functions
- Perform all changeover process steps to load, operate, and tear down a machine
- Select correct mandrel size based upon job/work order, inspecting mandrel for obvious damage due to stress or other factors
- Start machine to test adjustments and examine test pieces for defects and readjusting as needed
- Install and adjust feed mechanisms, guide rollers, tracks, machine fittings, and attachments, according to job/work order
- Sharpen machine punches and blades, and disassembles machines, replacing worn or defective parts
- Maintain equipment in proper working order. Perform regular scheduled preventative maintenance as required.
- Meet quality and efficiency standards
- Manages one's time to reduce machine down time during change-over, equipment and process adjustments
- Perform required tasks and assignments with a focus on Safety, Quality, and Delivery
- Participate in team dynamics, aiding others as needed, seek help as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, and promote safety with others.
Other Job Functions
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts
Skills/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work as a team member and assist others; contributing knowledge, skills, time and effort
- Ability to persevere, be patient, and diligent toward completing the job assignment, and detail oriented
- Easily adaptable and willing to learn, able to remember basic process steps to ensure accuracy and quality while making approve adjustments as needed
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and mechanisms
- Ability to watch, listen, and learn.
