What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Precision Products Group, Inc?
Position Overview:
The purpose of the Quality Technician is to support the workforce by monitoring dimensional product quality, and proper documentation. The Quality Technician will also be responsible for hourly verification of color quality for printed parts. The primary objective it to stop problems before they have any chance of gaining ground.
Essential Job Functions
- Conducting product tests, using Quality Lab equipment to ensure conformance to specifications in a timely manner.
- Records data from test procedures and inspections (Microsoft Office proficient).
- Prepares formal Test Reports for distribution to customers.
- Provides consultation and advice regarding product quality matters.
- Conducts internal audits and other assigned duties related to the Company’s quality management system.
- Audits production process for quality compliance related to production and customer requirements.
- Assures that operators are placing labels on box properly
- Assures that the information on the labels is correct and compliant with customer requirements.
- Communicates with Quality Manager regarding non-routine quality issues.
- Recognizes and properly identifies of out-of-spec materials and products assuring rejected material is dispositioned correctly and placed in proper location.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area.
- Follows Company policies and procedures (see Employee Manual).
- Demonstrates respect for other employees in communications and work practices.
- Demonstrates teamwork by being punctual, working efficiently, communicating appropriately, and using the computer and other equipment as designed.
- Will be cross trained in other departments to help as needed.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.

- Understanding of manufacturing and material control systems and general processes.

- Ability to use a computer and use Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent safety & attendance practices
- Ability to use both digital and analog measurement devices (dials, gauges, rules, calipers, scales, etc)
- Ability to read blueprints or part drawings
- High school diploma or equivalent, post–secondary education preferred
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Must be authorized to work in U.S.
