We are looking for a detail-oriented Slitting Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll operate and perform routine maintenance on slitting machines that convert large rolls of paper into various slit widths. The work you will perform will play a vital role in creating products that meet our high-quality standards.
What You'll Do:
- Hands-on Operations: Safely retrieve and load paper onto the machine using a Clamp Fork Truck. You'll regularly lift up to 60 lbs, ensuring that materials are set up correctly for production.
- Machine Setup & Maintenance: Get your machines running smoothly by setting up blades, adjusting spreaders, and performing maintenance as needed to minimize scrap and maximize quality.
- Quality Control: You will monitor and adjust the slitting process, making real-time adjustments to ensure a smooth run and high-quality output. Your attention to detail is key!
- Production Flow: Once the slitting is complete, you'll carefully move and organize materials, stack rolls on pallets, and prepare products for the next step in the process.
- Workplace Safety: You will uphold safety and quality standards, including performing key inspections of mill thickness, roll dimensions, and more to ensure we meet our high standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Team Player: While you'll be working independently at times, you'll also collaborate with others to ensure smooth operations and meet production goals.
- Attention to Detail: It is essential to check your work consistently, both during setup and throughout the process. You will be responsible for verifying that all products meet specifications.
- Physical Capability: This role involves frequent lifting, moving, and handling materials, sometimes up to 60 lbs as well as operating equipment safely.
What You Can Bring to the Table:
- Experience with Machinery: Previous experience operating or working with slitting machines or similar equipment is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate!
- Strong Work Ethic: Reliability and a commitment to getting the job done safely and efficiently are key to your success in this role. Good attendance is extremely important to us.
- Organizational Skills: You'll maintain a clean and organized workspace, following 5S principles, and ensure all materials and products are properly documented.
