PPS is seeking a full-time Training and Safety Coordinator to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of safety programs and employee training initiatives. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, fostering a culture of workplace safety, and supporting staff development across all departments.
Job Summary:
The Training and Safety Coordinator is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees through effective training initiatives. This position evaluates company-wide developmental needs, driving training efforts that enhance performance, educate employees, and ensure safe practices. By identifying and arranging suitable training solutions, this role supports ongoing training and development with a focus on OSHA compliance, safety practices. The Training and Safety Coordinator works across multiple departments to create a culture of continuous improvement and safety while collaborating with various teams to develop and implement effective training materials and programs.
Essential Job Functions:
Training (15 hours/week):
- Develop and conduct On-the-Job Training (OJT) across all departments to enhance skillsets and ensure employee development.
- Train and coach managers, supervisors, and other personnel involved in employee development initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to manage corrective actions and NCR training requirements.
- Actively follow up on training requests, monitor incoming requests, and promote employee engagement and feedback within the training program.
- Partner with HR to implement onboarding training requirements and ensure smooth onboarding processes.
- Conduct an annual training and development needs assessment to identify areas of focus for employee growth.
- Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Modify training programs as needed based on feedback and evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
- Works with Field Services and Sales on customer and ASP Training.
Safety and Compliance (10 hours/week):
- Conducts Safety meetings, maintains safety board, regulates safety and maintenance boards, performs safety audits and inspection in planned intervals.
- Perform safety audits and inspections at planned intervals to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure the organization's safety training materials are current, in compliance with regulatory standards, and effectively communicated to all employees.
- Monitor certifications for equipment operation (e.g., forklift) and ensure employees' certifications remain current. Certify new employees as necessary.
Quality Control Inspection Training and Monitoring (15 hours/week):
- Train employees on the QC inspection process, including the use of checklists and the Company Cam app, to ensure inspections are completed accurately and on time before jobs are shipped.
- Monitor the QC inspection process to ensure all inspections are properly performed, with clear and timely documentation, and verify that quality standards are met before job shipment.
- When inspection issues occur or when inspection items fail, collaborate with management and supervisors to determine root causes, implement process improvements, and schedule follow-up training as needed to address gaps in knowledge or procedures.
- Ensure that NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) are written and properly documented when issues occur during the inspection or testing processes, and work with relevant departments to address and resolve these issues promptly.
Education and Experience:
- Experience with employee development, safety audits, and training program creation is highly desirable.
- Leadership Experience in fast fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training projects and prioritize effectively.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and engage employees in development opportunities.
- Proven experience in training coordination, delivery, and safety compliance, ideally in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
- Degree in a related field preferred (i.e. Human Resources, Safety, Business Administration).
