ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Direct-Hire role for our client in Pittsburgh, PA
Workplace Type: On-Site (Parking provided)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive month-end close process and perform general accounting duties including the creation of journal entries and reconciliation of bank and general ledger accounts
- Lead the consolidation of related entities, including elimination entries
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and insights that support decision-making
- Work on technical accounting matters and draft related analyses and memos
- Stay up to date on financial regulations and standards to ensure compliance
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and related footnotes
- Support and assist external auditors
- Assist in updating processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Support financial technology implementations
- Support ad hoc financial requests and other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Master's degree preferred; CPA designation preferred
- 3 years of relevant accounting and financial analysis experience is required; experience in public accounting preferred
- Demonstrated technical accounting knowledge (GAAP) and ability to conduct research and effectively communicate impact on the business
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to interpret business drivers from financial data
- Proficient in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Large accounting ERP experience preferred; experience with a system implementation is a plus
- Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
