Training and Development Manager
Location: West of Pittsburgh, PA
Workplace Type: Hybrid (on-site 2 days per week)
A forward-thinking organization in the Pittsburgh area is seeking a Training and Development Manager to lead high-impact training programs and foster a culture of continuous learning. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader with a strong foundation in instructional design and a passion for employee growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Design & Delivery – Lead the creation and execution of engaging learning experiences across onboarding, compliance, leadership, and technical training (in-person, virtual, and hybrid).
- Learning Strategy & Assessment – Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and align training initiatives with business goals, performance metrics, and employee development.
- Instructional Design Expertise – Apply modern instructional design methodologies to build scalable, impactful learning programs using tools such as Articulate and multimedia content.
- Learning Technology Leadership – Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), ensure effective configuration, manage reporting, and supervise the LMS Manager.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with HR and department leaders to support career pathing, succession planning, and organization-wide talent development.
- Innovation & Engagement – Stay ahead of L&D trends, leverage creative tools and techniques, and drive employee engagement through inclusive and dynamic learning strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Certifications preferred - CPTM or CPTD
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and delivering learning programs.
- Proficiency in instructional design methodologies, course development tools, and LMS platforms.
- Strong Technical Skills including demonstrated LMS platform knowledge (Canvas, Blackboard, Cornerstone, etc.) and expertise in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Service-oriented with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
