JOB OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES: A Sales Support Specialist provides superior customer service to agents and insureds, including all policy support of assigned policyholders. Responsibilities include complete and accurate policy processing activities related to applications, actual production history, acreage reports, written agreements, and gathering missing information through agents and/or direct from insureds to complete policy processing while adhering to federal, state, and corporate guidelines and regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to questions from agents and insureds received via email, telephone, mail and fax, and utilizes knowledge of automated underwriting and /or processing systems to develop information for new or renewal policies.
- Keying and/or processing of all policy data including applications, acreage reports, production reports and other policy data, including electronic data, as necessary.
- Support agents by providing quotes to existing or potential customers as necessary.
- Supports agents by gathering signed documents via electronic signature.
- Monitors timely submission of acreage and production reports by agent, including mailing reports to non-automated customers.
- Complete policy administration for smaller polices as defined.
- Remain abreast of deadlines established by the Risk Management Agency.
- Utilize policy systems to process data.
- Assist Sales team with marketing activities as assigned
- Generate status reports to support meeting deadlines and policy requirements
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Detail-oriented and accurate.
- Experience with underwriting concepts, practices and procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet strict deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Problem solving skills are necessary to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
- 5 years of experience in crop insurance and/or agriculture, preferred
- P&C insurance license or ability to obtain license in 9-12 months of hire
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HOURS: Flexible work schedule with a general expectation of 40 hours per week Monday through Friday, varying depending on workload. Must be willing to work extended hours as needed to comply with deadlines. This position will work out of PRM’s Volga or Sioux Falls, South Dakota office. Occasional travel may be required.
