- Unit Name: =Sterile Processing Tech
- 2. Brief Unit Description: The Sterile Processing Department comprises the service within the hospital in which medical/surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, prepared, processed, stored, and issued for patient care.
- 3. Years of Experience Required: 2yrs. Minimum.
- 4. Skill Sets Required: Independently performs receiving, sorting, and decontamination of surgical/clinic items and instrumentation. Inspection and packaging of single instruments and instrument kits. Identification of appropriate sterilization method and cycle selection. Appropriate documentation for all sterile processes and accurate inventory assignment relating to the case cart build process.
- 5. EMR (Charting System): EPIC & SPM.
- 6. Floating Required: No.
- 7. Rotating Shifts Required: As needed, may include weekend on-call hours.
- 8. Certifications Required: CRCST or CBSPD.
- 9. Additional Information: Flexible endoscope reprocessing experience is a plus.
