We’re looking for a resident expert like you to join our tight-knit team! As our CNC Programmer/Operator, you’ll take the lead in programming and operating CNC equipment, including HAAS VMCs, Waterjets, and 3-axis Gantry machines. Your deep expertise in programming and machining software will help optimize designs and drive production efficiency. You’ll collaborate closely with our production team to create high-quality custom parts, and your skills will be valued at every step of the process.
Programming and Machining:
- Program, set up, and operate Vertical Milling Center, Waterjet systems, and CNC machines with minimal supervision
- Develop, prototype, and modify 3D models and toolpaths
- Write, adjust, and optimize G-code to ensure smooth and precise machining
- Operate manual milling machines as needed to support production tasks
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Independently identify and resolve machining errors, programming challenges, equipment issues
- Recommend adjustments to improve processes and efficiency
Fixture and Material Setup:
- Design and fabricate custom fixtures for securing materials during machining
- Prepare vector files and engineering drawings for accurate 3D production
Quality and Safety:
- Ensure all parts meet strict quality standards through inspections and testing
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Collaboration and Cross-Training:
- Communicate with design, production, and quality teams to align on project goals
- Participate in cross-training to support team objectives and handle additional tasks during peak periods
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of experience programming and operating CNC VMCs, with a deep understanding of G-code (HAAS experience preferred)
- Certification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Programming, or a related field
- Experience with 3-axis Gantry machines like Waterjets and Techno routers
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM (Autodesk Inventor, Aspire/Carve) software for creating and modifying machining programs
- self-starter with the ability to work independently, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Attention to detail and a passion for high-quality custom work
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to operate manual machines (e.g., Bridgeport) is a plus
