Sign Shop Graphic Artist
Location : Amityville, NY (on-site)
Overview :
We are looking for a Graphic Artist that has deep expertise in layout, typography, color, graphic elements, digital images and proofing. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this person will have a strong understanding of standard output processes such as digital printing, direct printing, laser cutting and other graphic processes. The successful candidate plays a key role in keeping projects moving efficiently through the pipeline, minimizing delays by anticipating production requirements and preparing files that align seamlessly with manufacturing standards. Please note : This is not a creative design position - instead, you’ll focus on preparing and proofing files, working with engineers, and making sure everything is set up perfectly for fabrication.
What you'll do :
- Collaborate with engineers to create shop drawings for client review and for use on-site
- With Engineers, determine cost estimates for new projects calculating time / materials
- Ensure digital image quality, including resolution, color accuracy, contrast, and proper file preparation for different output processes
- Prepare production ready files that align with requirements for our digital printing, direct printing, laser cutting, vinyl graphics, and fabrication
- Review artwork for accuracy within brand guidelines, client specs, and other constraints
- Anticipate production needs, make design adjustments to minimize delays and issues
- Ensure color consistency across various materials and processes
- Work with variable data and template setups to streamline large-scale signage projects
- Maintain digital assets, ensuring easy retrieval and version control for teams
- Communicate with teams and vendors to ensure smooth transitions from design to production
