Our drivers play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring the timely delivery of steel plating and smaller steel materials to machine shops of all sizes. Responsibilities
Transport steel plating and smaller steel materials to various machine shops.
Conduct vehicle inspections for mechanical and safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance.
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
Document and log work / rest periods and miles driven, and retain fuel / toll receipts.
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
Collect and verify delivery instructions.
Report defects, accidents, or violations promptly.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Class A Truck Driver.
Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc).
Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
Ability to adapt and handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc).
Valid Class A CDL license.
