Roles and Responsibilities of a Mid-Level Business Analyst

• Work closely with stakeholders, including business users, product managers, and technical teams, to gather and document business requirements.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to identify business needs.
• Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRD).
• Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Use techniques such as gap analysis, SWOT analysis, and root cause analysis to recommend process enhancements.
• Develop workflow diagrams, wireframes, and process models using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Bizagi.
• Act as a liaison between business and IT teams to ensure clear communication.
• Facilitate meetings and presentations to explain business requirements and project progress.
• Gather feedback from stakeholders and incorporate necessary changes.
• Create clear and concise documentation, including Use Cases, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and Test Scenarios.
• Maintain project-related documents and ensure version control.
• Provide status reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Analyze and interpret data to support business decisions.
• Use SQL, Excel, or BI tools to generate insights and reports.
• Work with data analysts to validate business hypotheses and trends.
• Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by creating test cases and validating results.
• Ensure that developed solutions align with business requirements.
• Identify defects and track them using tools like JIRA, Rally, or HP ALM.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Work with the Product Owner to refine and prioritize the product backlog.
• Support project managers by tracking milestones and ensuring timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify potential risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Work with compliance teams to align business processes with legal and security policies.
• Conduct training sessions for end-users and stakeholders on new processes or tools.
• Prepare training materials, user manuals, and FAQs.
• Provide ongoing support for newly implemented solutions.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Propose innovative solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity.
• Leverage automation and AI-based tools to enhance business processes.
