Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Ensure a safe and harassment and discrimination free work environment by following and enforcing all safety rules and procedures, all company policies, applicable laws, and Precision Values
- Follow all safety rules, operating guidelines and procedures
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety, efficiency, and positive work environment
- Select vehicles for loading based on defined criteria
- Quality handling and distribution of new vehicles (post-production)
- Drive and park new vehicles in holding lot / facility
- Scan and assign vehicles to railcars
- Conduct and document damage inspection
- Scan inventory and receive inbound vehicles
- Load, secure, and unload vehicles to and from train railcars for transport and quality handling in accordance with both AAR and Customer standards
- All other related duties as required for safe, efficient, and effective operation designated by the supervisor or manager on duty
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle safely
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to operate handheld scanner or other required equipment including, but not limited to bridge plates, end doors, mobile loading ramp, etc.
- Ability to listen to, understand, and follow work instructions
- Ability to pass a driver’s license check with no more than 4 points present, no drug or alcohol related driver’s license convictions or suspensions within the last 7 years
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- The employee is required to converse and listen in office and industrial settings (indoor & outdoor; noise level is high at times).
- The employee is frequently required to move about on concrete and uneven surfaces for extended periods of time (4-8 hours).
- The employee is required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The employee is frequently required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- The employee is required to conduct themselves safely while working in an active shipping and rail yard.
- The employee is required to safely enter and exit customer cars, railcars, and other equipment.
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, ascend or descend ladders safely at heights of 10 feet or more, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus
