As the Clinical Lab Scientist you will perform all aspects of pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic phases of the laboratory operation as defined by CLIA.
Responsibilities:
- Perform high complex molecular genetic tests including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and Next Generation Sequencing on patients’ specimens including all steps from sample processing to result reporting as per the company analytical SOPs.
- Demonstrates proficiency, competency and understanding of fundamental principles of clinical laboratory procedures with minimal amount of supervision.
- Demonstrate the ability to take on training responsibilities as needed.
- Assist in evaluating new test procedures when requested and communicate to the leadership team for their implementation.
- Perform (and report if needed) test results for all clinical laboratory procedures as assigned, both automated and manual, before immediate review by the director, consultant, or supervisory team.
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution. Must have good communication skills and the ability to solve job related problems.
- Maintain pertinent records according to the Quality Management plan to ensure compliances with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Assist to maintain supplies and reagents and notify appropriate parties of par levels.
- As defined by established standards, work with professional, cooperative and courteous manners.
- May assist with duplicate operations in Shanghai site as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and may require to change work schedules and/or shifts in reference to business needs.
Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum (2-3) years of experience in a clinical reference laboratory.
- Experience with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic mail.
- Physical Requirements/ Work Environment: Lifting/ Carrying/ Pushing/ Pulling under 20 lbs. and high repetitive motion handling.
License, Certification:
- Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) generalist or Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License (CGMBS). Meets California state requirements for mandatory CEUs.
