Summary
The appliance technician is responsible for the repair and to correct installation of products in the customer’s homes. Products repaired and installed include the following appliances: Washers & Dryers, Refrigerators, Freezers, Cook Stoves, Microwave Ovens, Dishwashers, Trash Compactors, Garbage Disposers and other major home appliances.
The appliance maintenance technician provides timely, superior repair and correct installation of customers’ products while maintaining Whirlpools high standards for customer service.
We provide a service van, uniforms, laptop, mobile phone and regional training.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately diagnosing and repairing appliances in the customer’s home.Must be able to select and use basic tools or instruments to assemble, adjust, calibrate, repair or test various products
Must be able to customer an accurate estimate of the cost of repair or installation
The ability to read, understand and navigate through information presented in schematics, diagrams, blueprints or other pictorial displays on a laptop
The ability to use a laptop for service call processes, routing functions and parts/inquiries/ordering
The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis, and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis without assistance and the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances
The ability to provide knowledgeable, courteous and professional customer service
The knowledge of basic electrical and refrigeration principles
The ability to work variable and flexible hours, including required overtime Education and ExperienceTechnicalSchool Training
10 years professional work experience as an appliance repair technician
Previous in-home appliance diagnosis and repair experience Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with co-workers as wells as customers
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Must be at least 18 years of age Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Valid Driver’s License and insurable Motor Vehicle Record
Refrigeration License, required Compensation Based on experience
Health Benefits are paid by employer.Paid vacation. 1 week after one year of service, 2 weeks after three years of service and 3 weeks after 5 years of service

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
