Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed estimates and manage project data.
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure accurate cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to assess construction conditions and gather relevant information for estimating purposes.
- Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best possible rates for materials and services.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include all necessary documentation and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project.
- Stay updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and new materials or methods that may impact estimating practices.
Skills
- Proficient in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations and processes.
