Job Description/Summary
This individual possesses and develops great working relationships within the community. The Coordinator schedules and arranges all Mental Health First Aid Trainings in Monmouth and Ocean Counties as specified in SAMHSA grant.
Responsibilities
- Outreaches local community organizations that serve youth and law enforcement agencies who can benefit from training.
- Schedules Mental Health First Aid trainings and conduct training (or identify alternate trainer(s)
- Maintains documentation of posttests, attendee contact information, follow up data, and all other relevant information as outlined in grant.
- Order supplies as needed through National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
- Coordinate registration of trainee participants using National Council database.
- Documents of all outreach attempts, outcomes, follow-up needed
- Provides brief monthly updates to Project Coordinator as a contribution to the annual report.
- Maintains frequent communication with Project Coordinator and VP of Quality and Integrated Care and participate in monthly/quarterly meetings with SAMHSA Government Project Officer (GPO).
- Maintains documentation of posttests, attendee contact information, follow up data, and all other relevant information as outlined in grant.
- Provides all necessary trainee documentation and data to Project Coordinator and/or Project Director via mentalhealthfirstaid@preferredbehavioral.org within one week of each training.
- Utilizes connect.mentalhealthfirstaid.org to manage training dates, attendance and all other information.
- Practices a trauma informed philosophy as demonstrated through behaviors and communications, embracing it as a cultural value.
- Must be able to attend at least two quarterly Agency meetings per year.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow policies and procedures as outlined in the HR Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Possesses working knowledge of grant, duties, and deadlines associated with goals and objectives.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 2 years experience working in prevention education. Trained in Youth or Adult Mental Health First Aid and additional Mental Health First Aid certifications can be funded by employer.
